Diesel Mechanic/Emergency Power Systems – Generator Technician

Diesel Mechanic/Emergency Power Systems – Generator Technician role:

?          Troubleshoot generator power systems faults, utilizing test equipment when necessary.

?          Disassemble and reassemble customer owned generator sets according to the manufacturer’s specifications.

?          Connect and perform load bank testing per municipal electrical and fire codes.

?          Perform preventative maintenance on customer equipment according to schedule requirements.

?          Provide and utilize hand tools for repairs of generator equipment.

?          Drive and monitor safe operating performance of company owned vehicles.

?          Maintain the operation and appearance of service vehicle.

?          Main technical point of contact for team members.

?          Function as a liaison between field service techs and service manager.

?          Respond to emergency dispatch on rotating basis.

?           Loadbanking, parallelling, switchgear experience desired.

 

Generator Field Service Support

Diesel Mechanic/Emergency Power Generator Technician requirements:

?          Must have High School Diploma or GED certification.

?          3-5 years previous generator field service repair experience required.

?          Trade school or military generator repair classroom and practical training.

?          Must be able to operate power and hand tools as well as test equipment.

?          Be willing to submit to required checks of your driving record and possess a valid driver’s license

?          Knowledge of engine and generator functions and usage including engine repair, top and bottom end.

?          Excellent communication and sales skills. including English speaking and writing ability

?          Must have clean driving record. No DUI 7 years

?          Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States

 

Must be willing to take a drug test  and be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of past employment, education, clean driving record and criminal history.
